Broad scope of what museums do by exploring their history and the critical issues they face. Acquaints students with the basic functions of specific museum departments and staff, including the role of director, curator, registrar, preparator, as well as fund raising, marketing, audience development, education, exhibitions, conservation, ethics, cultural/heritage tourism and public art. Guest speakers and field trips enhance classroom material.
