Catalog description

Provides a historical survey and thematic exploration of Chicano art beginning with the historical and cultural antecedents of Mexican Americans in the 19th and early 20th centuries and continuing through today. Lectures and readings focus on historical, political and religious elements of Chicano artistic and cultural production, as well as contemporary perspectives on Chicano art and culture.
