Catalog description

Presents core tools necessary for visual literacy that are requisite for comprehensive assessment of art, introduces effective research strategies that lead to understanding the depth of scholarship inherent in the discipline, and investigates methodologies that invigorate the multiple approaches used to study works of art. Reading, discussion and written assignments equip students for upper-level coursework in art history as well as prepare them for graduate study and/or continuation in the field.
