Exposes the broad scope of what museums do by exploring their history and the critical issues they face today. Acquaints students with the historical and contemporary function of museums and the concepts they currently engage with, such as authorship, authenticity, identity, education, interpretation, storytelling, technology, ethics, cultural heritage, public engagement and diversity. Enhances reading materials with talks by museum professionals, films and discussion boards.
