Catalog description
Culminating experience for game studio production majors. Students synthesize their creative, technical and entrepreneurial training to develop and present a professional plan for moving forward--whether founding an independent studio, publishing a game, or pursuing careers in the game industry and related creative sectors such as extended reality (XR), education or gamification. Students workshop their portfolios and pitch packages, provide peer-to-peer critiques and present their work to industry mentors and guest speakers who share real-world insights. The course also emphasizes professional community building. Students establish a shared cohort network to serve as a professional support and networking hub and attend the online Horizons Student Conference, gaining exposure to emerging opportunities, creative practice trends and industry leaders. Concludes with a public showcase where students present their integrated portfolios, pitches and/or studio plans to peers, mentors and invited guests.
