Catalog description

This course replaces and combines 2 previous courses of WRTG-7021 and WRTG-8901. This required course is the first of two sequential courses (PSYC-7021 and PSYC-8901 Writing the Dissertation Prospectus) where students actively engage in the Doctoral Dissertation Prospectus process. This course provides a framework for developing each component of the Prospectus and teaches organization, research, and collaboration skills necessary for its completion. Students will gain committee chair approval of their Prospectus by the end of the second course (PSYC-8901) in this series and should schedule their first dissertation committee meeting soon after the end of the 2nd course, if not sooner. Failure to complete the prospectus by the end of fall quarter of the following academic year, will result in a no credit and necessitate the retaking of this class. There will be no significant changes in course content between PSYC-7021 and WRTG-7021/WRTG-8901.
