Catalog description

This course provides an in-depth examination of the scientific and theoretical foundations that guide advanced nursing practice. Students will explore the philosophies of science, historical patterns of knowledge development, and the creation, critique, and application of theories from nursing and related disciplines. Students will analyze how theories inform the design and evaluation of practice interventions and how emerging scientific perspectives contribute to innovation in advanced nursing roles. Through critical appraisal and application, learners will strengthen their ability to integrate theory, science, and evidence into advanced nursing practice to improve outcomes across diverse populations.
