Catalog description

This course links advanced concepts of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology and pathological aspects of the brain associated with mental illness, with the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics of agents used clinically as one component of treating and managing psychiatric disorders. The application of psychotropic agents to mental disorders in children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations and its relevance to advanced clinical psychiatric and mental health nursing practice is emphasized, as well as safe prescribing practices.
