Catalog description
This course prepares graduate nursing students to apply foundational epidemiological concepts and biostatistical reasoning to understand and interpret health outcomes across individuals, families, populations, and communities. Emphasis is placed on the interpretation and application of epidemiological and statistical data to inform evidence-based clinical decision-making and population health strategies. Students will examine how social determinants of health (SDOH) influence health outcomes and healthcare delivery, and develop skills to recognize and address health disparities within their practice settings. The course fosters the ability to use data to support equitable, patient-centered care and to contribute to improved health outcomes across diverse populations.
