Catalog description

A continuation of Medical Nutrition Therapy I, this course continues exploring the Nutrition Care Process in more depth and breadth with emphasis on diagnosis, implementation, & monitoring progress. This course further studies the biochemical and pathophysiological basis for medical and dietary treatments of diseases. Students will continue to study and apply the use of diet in preventing illness and as a means of treating disease with a holistic approach applying concepts of social determinants of health and working in an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Students will attend a workshop on Otterbein University’s campus for clinical skills practice. Professional Setting Placement Hours associated with this course.
