Catalog description

All children benefit from outdoor play and learning, and a solid connection to the natural world can help each thrive. Ensuring that every child has the opportunity to participate in nature-based programming is crucial work for early childhood educators and requires thoughtful planning. Children identified as having special education needs may significantly benefit from supportive approaches. This course applies the principles of inclusion to outdoor settings, introducing practices and perspectives to help teachers and school leaders provide equitable access to immersive nature-based experiences for diverse groups of young children, including those who work with physical, emotional, social, or learning challenges.
