Catalog description
An examination of key concepts and research-based practices for students with reading and writing disabilities. Students will be introduced to the signs and symptoms of dyslexia, examine scientific research behind remediations, and discuss accommodations available to students who have reading or writing disabilities. Students will learn multisensory teaching techniques, assessment procedures, and structured word inquiry approaches, then have opportunities to practice these skills in a 1-1 tutoring setting (includes 25-hour supervised clinic with students in grades K-3).
