Integrative Neuro‑Embodied Assessment and Clinical Treatment Planning

This course introduces students to neurodevelopmental assessment through an embodied and relational lens. Drawing on current research in developmental neuroscience, sensorimotor integration, and relational neurobiology, students learn how movement, affect, and interaction patterns reflect emerging neural organization and adaptive functioning. The Kestenberg Movement Profile (KMP) is presented as an observational framework for analyzing children’s movement qualities in relation to neurobiological, emotional, and socio‑cultural development. Through case studies, labs, and applied projects, students design assessments that integrate neuroscience, attachment theory, and multicultural perspectives with methodological rigor and cultural humility.
