Catalog description
This course is designed for students to work toward and fulfill both the COAMFTE requirements for the completion of a supervised internship experience and the graduate program internship requirements in the state where the student intends to pursue licensure. This course consists of both field work with clinical supervision at an approved site, as well as weekly supervision with a member of the CFT faculty. Supervision focuses on the student’s professional growth and socialization, and development of ethics and family therapy skills. Course requirements include successive completion of the program’s capstone project and demonstration of meeting program learning outcomes. Specific guidelines for site work are provided in the CFT program Clinical Training Handbook. Art Therapy Specialization Note - Students in the AT specialization will complete an Art Therapy clinical internship/practicum under qualified supervision, meeting CAAHEP requirements for supervision and consultation, including: B.8. Supervision and Consultation.
