NUR120, NUR140, NUR160, NUR181, NUR191, NUR221, NUR231, NUR261 NUR241, NUR246, NUR251 This course focuses on the transition of the graduating student to the role of the professional nurse. The lectures center on leadership skills, clinical management of clients, legal concepts, ethical behaviors, and responsibilities of the licensed nurse. The clinical experience in the acute care setting will facilitate the student's transition process to the professional nurse. The course emphasizes the application of critical thinking through the nursing process in the delivery of nursing care. Students will practice leadership skills in nursing, professional behaviors, clinical decision-making, engagements in professional and interpersonal relationships, client assessments, implementation of interventions, evaluation of outcomes, teaching, and time management while caring for clients.
