Catalog description
Prerequisite: Completion of Intermediate Algebra or higher or placement by multiple measures. This course is designed to provide students with a deep conceptual understanding of the mathematics taught at the elementary and middle school level. Topics covered included problem-solving skills, the structure of the real number systems, other numeration systems, basic number theory, set theory, and use of manipulatives. Additionally, students will look at the Common Core State Standards and how these standards are applied in the content covered in class. (UC, CSU, AVC)
