Catalog description

This course was influence by the “Framework for Information Literacy for Higher Education” from the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL). Students will learn how information is created, organized, retrieved across platforms and formats and synthesized into new objects. The course focuses on finding information effectively, evaluating it critically, and using it ethically. In addition to traditional tools like reference materials, databases and the internet, students will also explore emerging technologies. This course can fulfill Information Literacy/Competency requirements at many colleges and universities and prepares students to handle changing information landscapes. (CSU, AVC)
