Catalog description

Prerequisite: Completion of MATH 140 or placement by multiple measures. This course covers the analysis of digital logic principles as well as hands on building and testing of functional projects. Some of the major topics include: Boolean logic, binary arithmetic, logic gates, combinatorial logic, sequential circuits, programmable logic devices, state machines and synchronous state machine design. Students will design combinatorial circuits, flipflops, multivibrators, registers and counters. Standard industry testing methods and equipment are used throughout the course. (CSU, UC, AVC)
