Catalog description
Advisory: BEFORE ENROLLING, students should have at least one year of tap dance, and/or completion of DA 105. This course is a continued development tap dance techniques and tap dances, emphasizing on intermediate level combinations and rhythmic structures. It will provide an opportunity to further develop motor coordination and rhythm through style and performance. Compositional forms and rhythms developed by tap dance pioneers, cultural influences, and current trends are practiced leading to an understanding and appreciation of tap as an artistic dance form. Note: For successful completion of this course, student will need to acquire their own tap shoes and have access to a hardwood floor or tap board. (UC, CSU, AVC)
