Intermediate Jazz Dance

Catalog description

This course continues development of intermediate movement skills employed in jazz dance technique with an emphasis on style and form. Increased compositional forms and rhythms are practiced leading to an understanding and appreciation of jazz as an artistic dance form. BEFORE ENROLLING, students should know basic jazz movements including isolation coordination and complex rhythmic forms, and/or completion of one semester of DA 104. (UC, CSU, AVC) (R3) Enrollment in any combination of DA 124 or DA 204 is limited to 4 times.
