The course focuses on introducing five qualitative research perspectives through readings, analysis, class discussions, and application as a valid means of conduct- ing research. The goal of the course is to provide students with basic understandings about qualitative research (what it is, why it is used, limitations and benefits), its philosophical underpinnings and associ - ated assumptions, and different types of research methods and analytic techniques that fall under the qualitative umbrella.
