This course introduces stu - dents to demographic data and how to apply techniques to model and predict populations and their socio-demographic makeup. The course discusses the effects of deaths, births, and migration on populations and communities. Students examine how programs and policies affect pop- ulation change and apply population predictions to real-world prob- lems. Students use statistical software to learn how to read-in raw data, make data modifications relative to research goals, assess data quality, and conduct basic descriptive statistics. 6335 Public Health Ethics for Health Professionals (3-0- 0). This course explores “applied” research and practical ethics using a broad range of both historic and contemporary public health cases.
