Focus is on the transition from student to independent practicing Family Nurse Practitioner in the diagnosis and management of common acute and chronic condi - tions across the lifespan in a primary care setting. As a provider of fam- ily-centered care emphasis is placed on health promotion, risk reduc - tion, and evidence-based management of more complex symptoms and problems. Nursing’s unique contribution to patient care and collabora- tion with other health care professionals is emphasized.
