Catalog description

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to Operational Technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), and the security challenges faced in in- dustrial environments. Students will explore key OT communication protocols and architectures used in sectors such as Automotive, Indus- trial Control Systems (ICS), Energy, Maritime, and Smart IoT-enabled infrastructures. Emphasis will be placed on real-world cyber-physical threats, secure protocol design, and defensive mechanisms. Topics include ICS protocols (Modbus, DNP3, IEC 104), automotive CAN/ CAN-FD security, maritime protocol security (e.g., AIS), Drone secu- rity, smart grid and AMI protection.
