This course presents the ideas and methods needed to give computers the ability to comprehend, interpret, and produce human language. In order to bridge the gap between computing systems and human lan - guage, it investigates how machines can process speech and text. With applications in fields including information retrieval, chatbots, and machine translation, this topic incorporates elements of linguistics and computer science. This course focuses on the theories of syntax, con - text-free parsing, transformational syntax and parsing, enhanced tran- sition networks, an overview of natural language processing systems, and an introduction to natural language processing.
