Catalog description

This course ex - plores the security challenges and defense mechanisms in IoT ecosys - tems. Topics include IoT architectures, lightweight communication pro- tocols (e.g., MQTT, CoAP), wireless technologies (e.g., BLE, Zigbee), device authentication, secure firmware, and cloud integration. Students will examine real-world vulnerabilities, attack vectors, and privacy con- cerns across domains such as smart homes, healthcare, and industrial IoT. Practical exercises and tool-based assignments will help reinforce the concepts through virtual environments.
