This course introduces the contemporary theory, research, and practice of Victimology. Victims play an impor - tant role in the criminal justice system as criminals but are paid less attention to by the system and the public. Therefore, this course talks about not only the theories that explain why certain individuals are more likely to be victimized, but also responses and consequences of victimization, as well as the prevention of victimization.
