A course that focuses on describing, explaining and predicting the fundamental prin- ciples of chemistry. 1411, 1412/CHEM 1411, CHEM 1412 General Chemistry (3-3). Study of the fundamental laws and theories of chemistry, chemical nomenclature, chemical equilibrium, metals and non-metals and their compounds, introduction to nuclear chemistry and the quantum theory of structure.
