Study of common medical ter - minology used in oral and written communications in the health pro- fessions. Terminology describing anatomical, physiological, and patho- logical conditions will be studied, including those used in diagnostic procedures and treatments. Special emphasis on root words, medical prefixes and suffixes, pronunciation, abbreviations, and symbols.
