Catalog description

Sports massage is linked to the world of sport in a series of specific techniques for the solution of the most common pathologies that occur in the course of a sports activity. This course studies the functioning of the organs and systems of the body that are injured through the practice of a sport and the ways to apply the basic notions about sports massage. In addition, concepts of kinesiology are studied, movement that focuses on t he action of the muscles in conjunction with of the bones. The student will learn the origin and insertion of the muscle, the antagonistic and synergistic muscles of the locomotor system and those tests they can do in order to identify weak and strong muscles in the body. Emphasis is placed on the development of critical thinking knowledge, skills and competencies, benefits and physiological effects of techniques that manipulate soft tissues and body biomechanics. These competitions are developed through de monstrations and practical exercises to allow the student to offer sports therapy, both at the level of training and competition, and as a means to help the athlete reach an optimal level and care at the same time. Information skills and ethics and diversity skills are also developed.
