RADI 230 CLINICAL PRACTICUM I 1 CREDIT A competency-based clinical experience that integrates the cognitive and psychomotor skills of the student in the performance of radiographic procedures. In this clinical experience, the student will observe and assist the radiographer in his daily tasks. The student will develop the skills to perform all radiographic procedures performed in the imaging department. The student will look for the high -quality elements in Xrays of the chest, abdomen, extremities, bony chest, shoulder girdle, and specialized st udies to meet criteria related to professional standards. Distinguish the roles of the members of the radiological center to know who to contact in the resolution of conflict resolution. Evaluate what are the safety factors involved for the staff, the pati ent and her family in a radiographic procedure of the extremities, chest and abdomen. Analyze communication strategies for patient and family education and adapt them to the level of understanding of the patient / family. Apply the deontological code of th e profession to obtain the clinical information of the patient. In clinical practice, the student will critically evaluate radiographic images of the chest, abdomen, extremities, bony thorax, shoulder girdle, and specialized studies to determine whether th e radiographs can be submitted for reading with the radiologist. The student will accurately evaluate images to correctly determine anatomy, image quality, and patient identification. Demonstrate corrective measures to improve inappropriate images. RADI 231 CLINICAL PRACTICUM II 1 CREDIT A competency-based clinical experience that integrates the student’s cognitive and psychomotor skills of students in the realization of radiographic procedures. In this clinical experience the student will observe and assist the radiographer on their daily shores. The student will acquire the skills in the realization of all radiographic procedures done in the imaging department. Formalize knowingly tasks associated with procedures of chest, abdomen and upper, lower extremities, bony thorax, shoulder girdle & specialized studies. Through the practice in the clinical area the student will be able to put into practice the knowledge of the classes of radiographic positions.
