TREATING ACTIVITY RESTRICTIONS

Catalog description

Using video demonstrations, interactive labs, lectures, active learning assignments and immersions or integrated clinical experiences, this course builds skills needed to select and perform interventions addressing activity restrictions related to bed mobility, sit-stand and transfers, gait, ADL's, and IADL's. Emphasis is on principles of motor learning including task-specific practice, types of instruction, practice schedules, variability of practice, and the use of auditory, visual, and tactile feedback. Integrated Clinical Experiences or Immersion Experiences are used to incorporate theory with practice.
