Catalog description

Study of the main issues related to the warm -up process, flexibility and the types of stretching. The following concepts will be discussed (warm-up, flexibility, performance, factors influencing flexibility, frequency, duration and intensity of stretching, proprioceptors an d stretching). The student will be able to use communication through the verbal mode, visual mode and auditory mode to produce original works through arguments to prepare athletes physically and mentally for exercise or competition. This helps to resolve or understand potential problems that occur in a flexibility training program. PETR 202 MEASUREMENT, EVALUATION AND PRESCRIPTION OF EXERCISE IN SPORTS AND PERSONAL TRAINING 3 CREDITS Study of the main issues related to the process of measurement, evaluation and prescription of exercises in sports and personal training. The following concepts will be discussed: (find basic guidelines in the reasons and terminologies, quality assessment, selection and administration of tests, parameters of measurement of athletic performance and data of results). The student will be able to use critical thinking to develop and analyze tests that help athletes and coaches determine athletic talent and identify physical abilities and areas that need improvement. Concepts and theories are used for decision making based on scientific evidence. This helps to resolve or understand potential problems that occur in a sport or personal training program. .
