Catalog description

The course offers a theoretical description of the different psychological aspects that affects participation in physical activities and sports. Among the topics discussed in the course are a historical background of sports psychology, woman in sports, aspects of coaching, motivation, and performance improvement, among others. Investigate studies are analyze in depth and the use of appropriate techniques for the evaluation and prevention of sociological situations that affect the athlete are introduced. PETR 105 SPORTS STRENGTH CONDITIONING AND SPORTS AND PERSONAL TRAINING ASSISTANCE TECHNIQUES 3 CREDITS Study of the main topics related to strength sports conditioning and assistance techniques. The following concepts will be discussed: (principles of the prescription of anaerobic exercise, variables of the design of resistance training programs, technique of training exercises with free weights and with weight machines, technical fundamentals of exercises, monitoring of exercises with free weights, body weight training methods, variable resistance training methods, one -sided training). The student will be a ble to carry out variables of the design of the weight training program such as: (needs analysis, selection of exercises, frequency of workouts, order of exercises, training load and volume). By mastering these methods, the student will be able to design a n anaerobic training program for athletes and athletes. This helps to resolve or understand potential problems that occur in strength training.
