Catalog description
In this course students discuss the psychiatric nursing history and integrate the nursing process through the theory and practice. Emphasis on effective communication skills, patient safety, application of the nursing process, critical thinking, cultural diversity, cultural competence and nutrition. NANDA diagnosis and the DSM V are used to plan the nursing care. The practice included inpatient and outpatient’s psychiatric units, and community mental health centers. In clinical practice, holistic nursing ca re focuses on evidence base practice , and safety and quality improvement principles, considering clients’ cultural diversity.
