Catalog description

The clinical rotation in microbiology provides the student with the experience of using a variety of techniques to identify pathogens, including cultivation and isolation, direct examination, serology, and the use of automated equipment. The students will also learn various staining procedures and will be trained in the correct procedure for interpreting studies of bacterial susceptibility. Emphasis on control and quality assurance in the clinical laboratory is made.
