Catalog description

This course is designed as a broad survey of major and foundational topics in the field of strategic management. Its objectives are to familiarize students with some of the primary theoretical underpinnings and core concepts of the strategic management field, and review decision areas and challenges involving research within the domain of strategic management. Topics covered in the course include: an historical and theoretical overview of strategic management, core concepts in strategic management the resource -based view of strategy, p erspectives on firm growth, the knowledge and attentions -based views of the firm, the role of the environment in strategic decisions, entrepreneurship and new venture and entry strategies, the drivers and consequences of firm performance, corporate governance and organizational considerations in strategic management.
