Catalog description
This theoretical course provides an interdisciplinary introduction to the main concepts and issues related to the process of human aging. The student is guided to identify the special needs of the elderly in the physiological, psychosocial and spiritual as pects. Theories and concepts of gerontogeriatrics are analyzed from a legally and culturally competent ethical perspective. Critical thinking, customer care, and ethics and diversity competencies are developed to allow the student to apply the theoretical foundations of geriatrics. Strategies such as document analysis, case studies, and interviews, among others, will be used.
