Catalog description

The Image Studio: Black and White course is a dive into the fundamentals of graphic design from an analog perspective, focusing on visual expression through hand drawing and the use of black and white. Students will explore the traditional techniques of drawing and composition, developing skills in manipulating shapes and spaces to create effective visual communication. Throughout the course, students will learn the fundamental principles of visual communication, without relying on the use of color. Topics such as contrast, texture, composition, depth, and visual storytelling will be explored, allowing them to understand how to convey messages through black and white. The course provides a solid foundation for those students who want to explore graphic design from a more traditional perspective, as well as those looking to understand the timeless foundations of visual art and communication.
