Catalog description
Discussion of various forms of risk exposure and their attendant costs for individuals, business firms and other types of organizations. Special emphasis given to risks associated with product liability, business operations, fleet operations, professional responsibility, property loss, and workplace related injuries. Students will learn about risk management techniques such as risk assumption, prevention, diversification and risk transfer through insurance and other contractual means. Analysis of commercial policies related to property and liability, and an o verview of insurance markets and applicable laws and jurisprudence in Puerto Rico.
