An introductory course in the study field of environmental sciences. The course has been designed to provide students with basic information about the structure and function of natural ecosystems; the effect of human activities upon air, water, soil, flora and fauna; environmental pollutants and their effect upon human and environmental health; the paradigm of sustainable development and environmental ethics.
