Catalog description

This course includes the study of concepts, origins, evolution and development of the profession in historical perspective, the development of counseling in P.R., the roles and functions of the counselor in different scenarios, traditional centers and non -traditional, service agencies, educational setting and the theories framework of the profession since its origins. It also includes the new counseling and orientation tendencies. The students will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the foundations of the profession, the theoretical approaches, techniques, competencies, skills, ethical and legal implications of the counseling services, research, multicul turalism, and the evaluation of the structural and human process.
