Catalog description

Study of the basic principles of microbiology and sterilization. Emphasis is given to microorganisms and their relationship with sterilization and disinfection procedures. In addition, regulations of the "Occupational Safety and Health Administration" (OSHA) related to the profession are studied. The student will learn the methods for infection control and how to prevent the transmission of diseases. Emphasis on the competencies of critical thinking, microbiology, and pharmacology, through the discussion of problems, laboratory exercises, case analysis, and the search and management of related information. In addition, information skills are developed.
