PENETRATION TESTING, LEGAL AND ETHICAL HACKING

Catalog description

This course covers the process and methods for assessing the security posture of information systems. It reviews in depth the phases of penetration testing to include but not limited to: planning, reconnaissance, scanning, exploiting, post exploitation and reporting. Tools, techniques, and procedures for each of the phases will be discussed. The overarching objective of this course is to arm the student with the practical knowledge necessary to integrate the defense-in-depth strategy, as detailed by the N ational Security Agency (NSA), in deploying, hardening, monitoring, and defending critical information infrastructure in accordance to legal and ethical guidelines of the profession. The class must develop a cybersecurity activity.
