Theory and practice of adsorption in solids materials and ionic exchange. The theoretical topics include the description of the solid surface and the interactions between the surface and the adsorbate, microporous and mesoporous adsorbents, adsorbents, the rmodynamics of adsorption, adsorption in the liquid -solid surface, and thermodynamics and kinetics of ionic exchange. Experimental methods in adsorption and ionic exchange in solids are also covered. Measurements of adsorption and ionic exchange isotherms, breakthrough curves, diffusion coefficients in microporous solids are presented through lectures and experiments.
