EARTH OBSERVATION AND REMOTE SENSING
Ana G. Mendez University · UGRD · Fall 2026
Catalog description
This course provides an introduction to the principles and applications of earth observation and remote sensing technologies. Students will learn about the historical development of remote sensing, the physical principles underlying these technologies, and the various types of sensors and satellite systems used in earth observation. The course covers the processing and analysis of remote sensing data, including both visual and digital image interpretation techniques. Students will also explore the integration of remote sensing data with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the application of these technologies in environmental monitoring, resource management, and other fields. The course includes practical exercises and projects to reinforce theoretical knowledge and develop practical skills in remote sensing and geospatial data analysis.
