Catalog description

This course facilitates students in the application of selected advanced inferential and multivariate biostatistical procedures to analyze health care data. Students are introduced to hypothesis tests using multivariate parametric and non -parametric method s, such as multiple regression, factor analysis, logistic regression and multivariate analysis of variance and covariance. This course is taught using an applied approach in which students evaluate the biostatistical techniques used in nursing research to provide evidence of the effectiveness of medical care practice or policy change. In addition, you have the opportunity to apply quantitative statistics programs such as SPSS, STATA, SAS, MLWin. Emphasizes the interpretation and evaluation of data analysis to help students’ select appropriate statistical methods for their doctoral dissertation projects. It facilitates the development of competencies related to research and evidenced-based practice and information and healthcare technologies.
