Catalog description
Advanced study in Biology within the environmental sciences perspective. The content can vary from semester to semester, but focused on presenting seminars, laboratory experiences, and analysis of very specialized topics or techniques relevant environmental sciences students. Themes can be selected from conceptual areas as diverse as metapopulations, morbility, genotoxicology, biofuels, species extinction, apoptosis, ecological niches, coral reef bleaching, or trace elements bioaccumulation. Students can enroll from 1 to 3 credits during any semester. The specific content of the course will be indicated in parentheses following the title of 'Advanced Study in Biology', or subtitles, so that the conceptual subject of the course be identified in the semester academic offer and in the student’s academic record. The student may repeat this course under different subtitles until accumulating a maximum of 6 credits.
