HUMAN ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY I

Catalog description

This course introduces students to the foundational principles of human anatomy and physiology. Emphasis is placed on the structural organization of the human body and the functional interrelationships of the integumentary, skeletal, muscular, and central nervous systems. Students will explore human body systems from the cellular and tissue level to organs and organ systems, integrating concepts of structure and function. Topics include anatomical terminology, homeostasis, cell biology, histology, bone phys iology, articulation, muscle physiology, the nervous system, and sensory organs. Laboratory experiences reinforce theoretical concepts through the examination of anatomical models, histological slides, and physiological demonstrations. The course consists of 45 hours of lectures and 45 hours of laboratory.
