Catalog description
This course introduces students to an attitude and approach for college success and relevant connections to their own inner motivations and external career options. Some key elements include values-goal alignment, an orientation to online learning, and strategies for successful adult learning. Other elements include planning a pathway from academic studies to a career path, career awareness, networking, engaging support resources, and collaborating with colleagues. Through the learning and activities of this course, students will gain the perspective needed for successful time management and prioritization, critical thinking, applied and collaborative learning, and civic/democratic and global learning. Content within the classroom includes open educational resources that can be easily found online. This course fulfills one general education elective. This course is recommended to be completed first in the student’s degree plan when possible. COLL111, COLL112, COLL113, COLL114, and COLL115 are considered equivalent courses. Students may only take one of these courses for credit.
